During our international orientation, I had the opportunity to meet a large number of incredibly outgoing and pleasant individuals from all over the world. I met Stephanie from Canada, Zachary from Los Angeles/Sweden, and Manu from Belgium/Czech. Blanca, Marcos, Duarte, Julia, and Lourdes are from Spain. After a brief introduction, we all got together after orientation to hang around. We went to several bars and clubs in Antibes on a single night and bonded tremendously. We traversed the entirety of Antibes and Nice for the first week, discovering numerous stunning beaches and scenic walks.
What I loved most about my exchange school was how the orientation was organized and when courses began. We had two weeks between orientation and the start of school, which allowed us to travel and spend the rest of the summer with our new international friends. During our two weeks of free time, we took a four-day journey to a strange Italian town called Cuneo. We decided to visit this location since we saw it on Google Maps and believed it would provide a unique experience. The village was peaceful and beautiful. We explored the town and dined on delicious Italian cuisine. We decided to take a bus into the Italian Alps to hike and discover nature the following day. The landscape of Italy was stunning, and I could not believe I was traveling across a foreign country with individuals I had just met a few days before. With our new friends, our trip to Cuneo was the first and greatest of many. It strengthened our relationship on a deeper level.
