Visiting Duarte's Home: Lisbon, Portugal

I had the pleasure of traveling to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, with one of my best friends, Duarte, who is from the city. The beauty and charm of the city completely took me. From its narrow, winding streets to its stunning riverfront views, Lisbon has everything you could want in a European city.

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Alfama district, the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon. This area is known for its colorful buildings, traditional Fado music, and stunning views of the Tagus River. I enjoyed strolling through the narrow streets and alleys, admiring the beautiful tiled facades, and stopping in charming cafes along the way.

Another must-visit spot in Lisbon is the Belem district, which is home to several of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Jerónimos Monastery and the Torre de Belem. These impressive historical sites are rich with history and offer stunning views of the river and the city.

Of course, I couldn't visit Lisbon without indulging in some of the local cuisine. The city is famous for its fresh seafood, and I enjoyed some of the best grilled octopus and cod dishes I've ever tasted. I also tried the famous Pastéis de Belém, a delicious pastry filled with sweet custard and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar.

Overall, Lisbon is a beautiful and vibrant city that offers something for everyone. Whether you're interested in history, art, food, or simply enjoying the scenery, Lisbon is the perfect city escape that won't disappoint. I can't wait to go back and continue exploring all that this incredible city has to offer.
